Job Summary
The Decision Support Analyst reports to the Manager of Decision Support working closely with team members to complete all tasks included in supporting the operation and maintenance of the Decision Support System (\u201CDSS\u201D) in an on-going basis to include ensuring the integrity of clinical and financial data from source systems. The Decision Support Analyst is responsible for maintaining and supporting the DSS to include: planning and coordinating the monthly costing process, ensuring the integrity of clinical and financial data from source systems; maintenance of the cost process and reconciliation to the financials; routine and ad hoc auditing. They ensure accuracy of data loads from feeder systems, carefully validate imports, and quickly resolves errors.Assists with data loading from source systems and reconciliation of data including detailed audits. Randomly test data as instructed and necessary to ensure accuracy. Maintains an audit listing per established departmental procedure. Participates in the implementation/installation of new Decision Support source systems as required. - 30%
Responsible for the cost data preparation and maintaining the cost allocation process. Performs all necessary daily/monthly/quarterly DSS maintenance and processing and reconciles the data to source systems such as the General Ledger. Maintains an ongoing review of the cost accounting processes within the DSS. Compares DSS cost data to source data (feeder systems) and investigates all variances. Maintains trend of revenue and expenses and reviews for reasonableness. Collaborates with other departments as necessary to support the accuracy of cost alignments in the DSS system. Follows established audit and review procedures to ensure the accuracy/integrity of all cost and net revenue calculations within the system to support reconciliation to the YTD financials. - 40%
Partners with system stakeholders to perform routine and ad hoc analytics, including cost of care/care variation, profitability analyses for existing service lines, and feasibility studies (e.g., cost studies and RVU development). May support proposed/new program development, proforma financial forecasts, etc. Participates in special projects as directed by leadership. Supports all levels of the organization by analyzing data and summarizing and presenting the results in an understandable and actionable manner, including leveraging visualization platforms, to assist in decision making. - 10%
Operates and maintains DSS as outlined in the weekly and month end audit schedule. Be flexible to on-going changes and revisions (as use of the system expands). Leverage analytical skills to suggest improvements to increase efficiency in data preparation and review process considering the duplication of effort among the Hospitals/Facilities. - 10%
Continuously improves report writing skills and understands the use and importance of information being collected and analyzed. Assists in training and support of all Decision Support end users and other analysts. Strives to be an "expert" user of the DSS to become an effective and efficient source of support for end-users throughout Prisma Health. - 10%

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director, or executive.

Bachelor's Degree
