Desktop Publishing Specialist

Position Summary:
Potawatomi Training, LLC (a federal government contractor) seeks a Desktop Publishing Specialist in Fort Bragg, NC to support an engagement for the Headquarter branch of the United States Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) responsible for overseeing the various special operations forces of the United States Army. This contract provides support to USASOC’s Historian office.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Create illustrations, layouts, map overlays, posters, graphs, charts, and internet web pages in support of battlefield operations, psychological operations, military intelligence, medical, public affairs, and training functions.
- Determine media, style, design, and technical requirements to create visual information presentation products.
- Choose and develop sequence and manner of presentation of products, and operate assigned equipment to carry out visual information presentations.
- Prepare graphic products using manual, mechanical, and electronic equipment.
- Demonstrate skill in the principles of design and layout, fundamentals of color theory, realistic drawing, color media, lettering, printing reproduction, image editing, and desktop publishing.
- Generate, import, export, and edit art work files.
- Utilize web page design software, animation software, and digitized audio and video software.
- Manage, transmit, and archive imagery.
- Prepare originals for reproduction and complete tasks such as collating, binding, stapling, and hole-punching.
- Coordinate graphic requirements, applications, and capabilities for leaders and customers.
Education & KSA Requirements:
Education:
- Associates Degree in Graphic Design or Graphic Communications.
- Certification in Software training; Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience and training in copy editing, magazine and book design and layout.
- Demonstrated expertise in the design and layout techniques associated with desktop publishing.
- Expertise in MS Word and MS Excel.
- Detail oriented with an artistic ability and a good eye for graphics.
- Excellent communication skills with customers and co-workers alike.
- Ability to problem solve.
Working Conditions/Working Environment/Physical Demands:
- Sedentary position working on-site at Fort Bragg, NC.
Additional Requirements:
- Selected candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Selected candidate subject to background check.
- This position is contingent upon award of contract.
