SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation is seeking an Associate, Corporate Development. The Associate
will support the operations, fundraising, and donor relations associated with Corporate Development, including Global Partnerships, Corporate Sponsorships, and Corporate Membership. As a key member of the Corporate Development team, the Associate is responsible for providing day-to-day fundraising and administrative support for the Corporate department. Duties include effective donor stewardship, prospect development, and sponsor benefit fulfillment; coordination of sponsored or membership events; coordination of external meetings, presentations, and reports; and general operations administration, including management of key departmental calendars, record keeping, gift processing, and mailings. SKILL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum of 2-3 years experience in nonprofit administration, with a focus on fundraising and business development. Experience in arts, culture, educational organizations and/or agency environments desirable.
- Exceptional written, verbal and interpersonal communication and time management skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively, form strong relationships and close deals.
- Ability to handle complex situations, priorities, and deadlines in a diplomatic and timely manner.
- Excellent communication, project management and administrative skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams and Word required. Experience with CRM databases (Salesforce) and prospect research tools (Winmo) desired.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work collaboratively with members of the Corporate Department to help achieve and exceed annual fundraising goals and provide support on projects as assigned.
- Act as a key administrator for the Corporate Department, coordinating weekly and monthly team meetings, creating agendas, managing time-sensitive correspondence, and supporting events.
- Assist in fulfilling the ongoing needs of Global Partners, Corporate Sponsors and Corporate members based on contractual benefit commitments.
- Support the development of select current and prospective donors, providing a high standard of service via phone and email as a representative of the Museum.
- Manage the internal record of gifts received and of the departmental budget, including reconciliation of internal reports, invoices, and expense tracking, working in conjunction with the Director and Corporate team.
- Manage the Corporate Department events calendar, coordinating logistics for select events, including Corporate Private Views and corporate event rentals in conjunction with the Advancement team. Represent the Museum at receptions, meetings, site visits, and corporate donor events as needed.
- Support gift acknowledgment, processing, and non-deductible valuations, working closely with the Corporate Team, Finance, Legal, and Development Operations.
- Manage mailings for exhibition catalogs, reports, and relevant donor communications.
- Support the Director and Corporate team in identifying and soliciting a portfolio of corporate prospects. Prepare prospect briefings for pipeline development and meetings as assigned.
- Prepare presentation materials, written proposals, reports, and budgets for corporate funding prospects in conjunction with the Director of Corporate Philanthropy, Corporate Curatorial, Communications, Education, Legal, and Finance staff.
- Assisted the corporate team in managing donor relations by fulfilling contract obligations for key donors.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date corporate donor records in Salesforce database and central files.
- Demonstrated commitment to the Guggenheim’s Diversity, Equity, Access and Inclusion Action Plan and Sustainability Action Plan, including in building opportunities for corporate support of museum efforts.
- Other duties as assigned.
WORK DEMANDS & ENVIRONMENT:::
- Ability to travel within the New York City metropolitan area as required to perform the above duties at any of the Guggenheim’s owned or leased properties upon request.
- Very occasionally, work may be conducted outdoors, with exposure to varied weather conditions.
- Ability to occasionally work evenings or weekends to implement museum events or meetings.
EDUCATION::
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- A bachelor’s degree with a strong interest in arts and culture is desirable.
