Description
The Development Coordinator works to secure funding and sponsorships for John Clarke Senior Living. John Clarke provides 5 STAR healthcare and programs for over 100 seniors and their families. The Development Coordinator develops fundraising plans with department leaders, maintains donor relationships, secures new ones, and advances the company's initiatives through actively seeking partners. Additionally, the Development Coordinator will coordinate with various business partners and organize events. A development coordinator will organize with other members of the development team and plan ways to increase brand awareness and funding. The Development Coordinator is responsible for organizing and executing fundraising efforts for this small, nonprofit organization. This work is fun, creative, fulfilling and challenging.
Requirements
1. Create and implement the Development Plan with the Team that incorporates a range of strategies including annual appeals, major donors, grants, corporate and individual appeals, social media and special events.
2. Support events and other committees by establishing and adhering to event budget, assist with event preparation, and attend events to assist in set up, implementation, and clean up.
3. Assist with the production and implementation of appeal campaigns and other fundraising communications and strategies.
4. Coordinate affiliate social media outputs including event outreach and visibility strategy. Assist the Marketing Director in managing John Clarke Senior Living website and social media.
5. Assist in grant writing, research and tracking.
6. Perform administrative duties as needed including filing, copying, sorting, mailing, etc.
7. Record donations on an ongoing basis in the donor database and generate acknowledgments and thank you letters. Design and run reports and assist with database maintenance.
8. Attend networking events to increase professional network, refine relationship management skills, and enhance John Clarke Senior Living outreach and capacity.
Specific Educational and/or Vocational Requirements
• Background in philanthropy, development and/or grant writing experience required, with relevant and transferrable skills such as customer relations and project management.
• Must possess strong customer service skills, strong computer and electronic file management skills and strong organizational skills.
