The Nutrition Coordinator will serve as coordinator of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) program including operation, reporting and regulatory compliance. This position is responsible for menu planning, food and supply procurement, as well as food preparation and effective kitchen management.
EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

2 years experience with food preparation and food program documentation preferred.

Current CPR certification through AHA is required.
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Ability to read and follow instructions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to operate cooking and food preparation equipment.
Working knowledge of proper food handling and sanitation procedures.
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Must be at least 21 years of age to operate CDS vehicles.
Proficient with Google Suite or related software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Plan and prepare nutritious breakfast, lunch & snacks for infants, toddlers and preschoolers, following CACFP guidelines.
Maintain CACFP program records, daily meal count and complete monthly reporting requirements.
Submit monthly CACFP claims for reimbursement.
Attend necessary training to stay abreast of CACFP requirements.
Document and adhere to food allergies.
Prepare and/or arrange food for special occasions.
Shop for food and supplies for the center.
Complete purchase requisitions and code them according to CACFP requirements.
Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes the kitchen and other assigned areas.
Cleans and sanitizes dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and other containers and returns to the appropriate location in the kitchen area.
Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service.
Maintain supplies in all first aid and clean up kits.
Maintain kitchen inventory list.
