JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a motivated Accounting Intern to support our accounting team in various financial tasks and projects.  As an intern you will assist in the accounts payable, analyzing data, and contributing to the overall efficiency of our accounting processes. This internship will provide you with valuable exposure to real-world accounting practices and help you build a solid foundation for a successful career in finance.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists with the accounts payable cycle – makes payments by the appropriate deadlines and issues checks
• Reviews legitimacy of payment requests
• Accurately files and maintains accounts payable records after processing
• Accurately posts non-purchase order invoices to appropriate general ledger accounts, departments and branches
• Processes vendor purchase order invoices and works with purchasing department regarding any discrepancies
• Maintains account databases by entering data into our data management system and ERP
• Protects the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
• Finds and uses accounting data to resolve or investigate accounting problems and discrepancies
• Collaborates with team members on special projects, as needed
• Performs other duties as assigned

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS

• Able to work well in a fast-paced professional office environment
• Able to think analytically and problem solve within assigned duties
• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with a focus on rapport-building, listening, and questioning skills
• Strong documentation skills
• Keen attention to detail
