Diagnostic Imaging Manager plans and implements the overall diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services for several departments which may include nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography and ultrasound. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Requires a certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Additionally, Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically reports to a director. The Diagnostic Imaging Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Diagnostic Imaging Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. ULTRASOUND TECH JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- 2 years of previous experience
- Must have OB/GYN, some vascular and general scanning experience
- Graduation from fully accredited Sonography program.
ABOUT THE POSITION:- Participate with Radiologist and/or physician by contributing technical and professional knowledge
- Review pathology, surgical and delivery reports, as appropriate, to follow patients progress and provide a means of reviewing the accuracy of the diagnostic exam
- Must be familiar with transducer, gain, field of view, focal range, frame rate, dynamic range, etc
- Appropriate use of 2-D, 3-D, M-mode, Doppler, and color flow
- Correlation is made of the clinical history with the exam to be performed
- Confirm patient preparation and explain procedure to patient
- Perform abdominal, obsetric, gynecologic, veneous and carotid Doppler and various small parts of ultrasound exams
