TITLE: Resident (Master of Science in Diagnostic Imaging)

Starting Salary: $32,000
Function
- To support the work of the assigned academic departments as assist or lead instructor.
- To further the academic mission of Northeast College through obtaining a Master of Science degree in Diagnostic Imaging and apply knowledge to enhance the educational program.
- To develop as a chiropractic educator, academician, radiologist, and clinician.
Organizational Relationships
- Responsible to the program director for aspects of the educational program.
- Responsible to the Dean of Faculty and Research for teaching schedules, course assignments, and evaluation of instruction in the Doctor of Chiropractic Program courses.
- Responsible to lead faculty for course preparation and management.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Clinical and teaching responsibilities (approximately 20 hours per week)
- Assist and/or lead in courses (includes development of syllabi, teaching materials, assessment instruments and clinical experiences) and clinical duties as assigned by the program director and dean.
- Quality control of diagnostic imaging laboratory in Campus Health Center.
- Supervision of diagnostic imaging studies in Campus Health Center.
- Conducting intern orientations at the Campus Health Center.
- Evaluation of the interns’ performance in the acquisition of diagnostic imaging studies.
- Interpretation of imaging studies and writing diagnostic imaging reports.
- Maintenance of Northeast College diagnostic imaging teaching files.
- Attend observational rounds at off-campus imaging centers, clinics and hospital facilities.
Development responsibilities (approximately 1 hour per week)
- Relate graduate coursework to Northeast College needs as determined by the program director and/or administration.
- Attend a minimum of six Faculty Development hours per academic year.
Service responsibilities (approximately 3 hours per week)
- Mentoring of students.
- Appropriate committee membership as determined by the program director and/or the dean.
- Assist in clinical and educational outcomes assessment.
- Participate in department and faculty meetings.
Research responsibilities (approximately 12 hours per week)
- Graduate level coursework toward master’s degree.
- Prepare and submit a minimum of two articles to a peer-reviewed journal or other similar activity as approved by the program director.
- Complete research design, management, data collection, writing, and defense of a master’s thesis approved by the program director and the thesis committee.
Methods of Accountability
- Reports to the program director for all teaching experiences.
- Formative evaluations per program syllabus by program director and the dean.
- Summative evaluations per program syllabus by program director and the dean.
- Satisfactory progress in M.S. program.
Mental and Physical requirements
- Desire to teach and learn.
- Excellent verbal and written skills.
- Excellent visual acuity to interpret imaging studies.
- Ability to give and receive constructive criticism.
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Ability to perform assigned duties.
- Excellent time management skills with timely completion of all responsibilities.
Education, Training and Experience
- Doctor of Chiropractic degree from a Council on Chiropractic Education accredited institution.
- Eligible for N.Y. chiropractic license, which must be obtained within a reasonable period after hiring.
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
- Eligible for admission to M.S. program.
- Familiarity with PC computing systems and MS Office is valuable.
