Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor jobs in Kentucky

Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises and coordinates the activities of staff in a diagnostic imaging department such as nuclear medicine, MRI, radiology, computer-assisted tomography or ultrasound. Monitors the adherence to all diagnostic imaging policies, procedures, and services. Being a Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree, certification with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Diagnostic Imaging Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     JOB SUMMARY:

    Under the direction of the Radiology Medical Director, the Diagnostic Imaging technologist:

    • Performs radiographic procedures and related techniques, producing images at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed independent practitioner.
    • Ensures services are performed in a safe environment in accordance with established guidelines and regulatory requirements.
    • Serves as part of the imaging center team and seeks as well as provides feedback for improved clinical practice.

    Requirements

    EDUCATION:

    • Must have a minimum Associates Degree in Radiology or be a graduate of an accredited two-year radiology program.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    Must be certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography and maintain current valid registration from ARRT. Additionally, must meet the state licensure requirement for the state in which they practice. BLS certification required within 60 days of hire.


    SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Skill in operation of radiographic equipment as well as applicable ancillary equipment.
    • Ability to work independently and multitask.
    • Ability to provide documentation accurately and concisely.
    • Demonstrates understanding of human anatomy, physiology, pathology, radiopharmacology, and medical terminology.
    • Knowledge of computer applications, including information and billing systems, keyboard input, digital archiving, and retrieving of data.
