Dietitian Supervisor supervises staff that plans, prepares, and delivers meals to patients. Consults and coordinates with nutritionists to ensure all menus comply with general dietetic standards and fulfill prescribed patients nutritional and therapeutic requirements. Being a Dietitian Supervisor oversees all food service operations. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Dietitian Supervisor typically reports to a manager. Requires Certified Dietary Manager(CDM). The Dietitian Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     Matrix Providers is hiring a Dietitian to join our team of talented professionals who provide healthcare services to our Military Service Members and their families at 377th MDG Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) in Albuquerque, NM.

    • Employment Status: Full-time

    • Compensation: This is a salaried position, paid bi-weekly.
    • Schedule: Monday - Friday. Eight (8) hour shifts or forty (40) hours per week, between 6:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m.

    Requirements: The Dietitian must have and meet the following:

    • Degree: Bachelor's degree.
    • Education: Graduate from a college or university accredited by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) or completion of a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) accredited by the ACEND or completion of a post Baccalaureate degree Dietetic Internship Program of supervised practice (for a minimum of 1200 hours) accredited by ACEND.
    • Registration: Possess current registration as a Registered Dietitian from the Commission on Dietetic Registration of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
    • Experience: Possess three years of experience in wellness, sports nutrition, or nutrition education. Should be a role model in weight, fitness, and other healthy lifestyle behaviors.
    • Board Certification: Board-eligible Certified Specialist in Sports Dietetics and must be successfully granted provider privileges by the Credentials Office and maintain privileges.
    • Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or the Red Cross. Web-based classes do not meet these standards.
    • Licensure: Current, full, active, and unrestricted dietetics license or certification.

    Job Summary:

    • Plan and organize work of considerable difficulty and responsibility under minimal supervision.
    • Participate in research and performance improvement studies.
    • Conduct nutrition assessment/evaluation, which includes nutrient intake, activity level, appetite, intake of vitamins, minerals, nutritional supplements, and other complementary alternative medicine usages, weight history, taste changes, feeding problems, food intolerance, food-drug interactions, unhealthy diet behaviors, socioeconomic and ethnic background, documented medical history, current diagnoses and medical treatment modalities, current drug therapy, and clinical signs and symptoms of nutritional deficiencies.
    • Apply the basic principles of enteral and parenteral nutrition support.
    • Apply principles and practices of clinical dietetics and medical nutrition therapy to plan, develop, and independently coordinate medical nutrition therapy intervention, interdisciplinary care plans, and nutrition education activities.
    • Conduct studies, analyses, and document findings to evaluate staff, food, nutrition supplements/feeding or meal alternatives and therapies, supplies, equipment, and service to improve the efficiency of the operation.
    • Apply current food service systems management, principles, and practices within a healthcare environment.
