Digital Collection Librarian maintains a library's digital collection of books, serials, documents, audiovisuals, or other materials, and assists groups and individuals in locating, obtaining and using materials. Trains others in the creation or preservation of digital resources and the use of the library's digital system(s). Being a Digital Collection Librarian is responsible for the library's open source projects and procures licenses for digital content. Interacts with IT staff in selecting/developing, implementing and maintaining the library's technical infrastructure. Additionally, Digital Collection Librarian requires a master's degree in library science from an ALA-accredited school in a related field. Typically reports to a director. The Digital Collection Librarian manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Digital Collection Librarian typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Collection Representative

  • Purpose Statement

    Under the direction of the Director of Collections and/or the department lead, negotiates the successful resolution and payment of outstanding receivables on behalf of BARR clients.

    Essential Job Functions

    • Places outbound calls using a power dialing technology to commercial debtors.
    • Activates all new placements according to department procedures.
    • Initiates contact with debtors via letters, telephone, fax, or email in compliance with applicable industry laws, regulations and company collection practices, policies and/or procedures.
    • Mediates, negotiates, or arbitrates payment terms and resolutions per company policies and client requirements, if any.
    • Regularly meets or exceeds established biweekly period department fee quota as determined by management.
    • Maintains all files in the queue on a timely basis.
    • Communicates with clients regularly to give correct status, gather more information, or report potential account closure as needed.
    • Actively participates in all training sessions and successfully incorporates training concepts into the workflow.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Education and Work Experience

    ● Must have a H.S diploma or GED.

    ● Must have at least 1 year of business experience preferably in the collection industry or call center environment.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    ● Knowledge of and the ability to independently operate standard office equipment.

    ● Proficient in using MS Office and ability to learn debt collection related applications/software.

    ● Must have the ability to perform basic math (i.e., add/subtract/multiply).

    ● Using the English language, be able to read and comprehend written concepts, write business-appropriate documents using correct grammar, speak so others understand, hear and understand others speaking.

    ● Must have good interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with all levels of the organization and professionally represent the organization when speaking with clients, debtors, and others in or outside the organization.

    ● Must have strong presentation and negotiation skills as well as be able to exercise sound judgment and make decisions within the scope of the job.

    ● Ability to take and follow direction including the ability to understand and comply with company policies and procedures.

    ● Must have strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to establish and manage multiple and sometimes competing priorities.

    ● Must be able to exchange accurate information and frequently/continually communicates with others via email, fax and phone.

    ● Must have the ability to work independently or as a team member.

    Physical Demands

    ● Must be able to remain in a stationary position greater than 75%of the workday.

    ● Must be able to occasionally move about inside the office to access office machinery, file cabinets, and attend meetings.

    ● Must be able to consistently operate a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a computer printer, office phone, and copy machine.

    ● Must be able to endure repetitive movement of hands and fingers – typing and/or writing.

    ● Must have the ability to see details at a close range (within a few feet of the observer)

    ● Must have the ability to speak clearly so others can understand, to hear and understand the speech of another person and communicate information and ideas in writing so others will understand.

    Work Environment

    • This individual will work from home after a period of training in office. At a future date, occasional planned travel to an office location may be required.
    • Must have a quiet space to work and talk on the phone while at home in the designated workspace.

    Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
