Dining Room Supervisor - Nursing Home supervises the employees and activities of a nursing home dining room. Ensures proper food quality and oversees dining room cleanliness, set-up, and maintenance. Being a Dining Room Supervisor - Nursing Home may require a high school diploma. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. The Echelon of Medina is a private, family-owned facility located in the heart of Medina. Comfort, care, and community are hallmarks of The Echelon experience, which caters to the evolving needs of older adults. Following the medical model, The Echelon offers its members continuity of care from independent living, to assisted living, and to memory care, if needed.
Responsibilities:
- Trains and develops all dining room servers
- Create team schedules
- Takes and covers call offs
- Makes independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Deals tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
- Follows oral and written instructions
- Maintains the care and use of supplies, equipment, the appearance of work areas, and perform regular inspections of food service areas for sanitation, order, safety, and proper performance of assigned duties
- Must posses the patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as be willing to handle residents based on whatever maturity level the are currently functioning.
