Director of International Education leads and directs all aspects of the institution's international programs. Oversees programs, activities, faculty affairs, and academic support services. Being a Director of International Education develops and implements strategies to attract and retain students and faculty. Oversees the operations of the study abroad and foreign exchange programs, the international admissions process, and English language programs. Additionally, Director of International Education ensures that the curriculum remains current and is in compliance with accreditation standards. Monitors the documentation and visa application processes. Oversees the departmental budget and management of expenditures throughout the year. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Director of International Education typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Director of Education & Training
General Description: This full-time position oversees all education, training, and facilitation programs at Project
Adventure. Managing a team of trainers and facilitators, the Director of Education & Training ensures the effective
implementation of our programs for youth and adults, ranging from challenge-course-based adventure programs to
afterschool programs and nationwide trainings for adults. The Director is also part of the team at Project Adventure
that builds new community partnerships and executes our growth strategy.
Roles & Responsibilities:
o Supervising all team members, facilitating their professional growth, and giving and receiving
feedback
o Supporting program managers and ensuring they are adequately supervising their staff members
and projects
o Crafting and maintaining a strong team culture
o Youth and College Programs at the Project Adventure challenge course in Beverly
o Out-of-school time partnerships at local afterschool programs
o School-based programs that support mental health, social-emotional learning, and wellness
o Workshops, trainings, and professional development, for school teachers, youth workers, social
workers, adventure professionals, summer camps, and more

Key Characteristics
The best candidate for this job will be driven by the mission and core values of Project Adventure, with a passion for
making community impact, especially in youth development and education. The candidate should demonstrate prior
success in project and people management in the education/youth development fields, be extremely organized and
administratively skilled, enjoy supporting others in their growth, and be willing to be both hands-on and high-level.
As a small but growing organization, we all wear many hats and the work is often evolving, so comfort with change is
a must. Past experience with facilitation and/or teaching is a plus.
