Disaster Recovery Director leads the development of a comprehensive business continuity strategy and programs, plans, and toolsets that support response, develop resiliency, and enable recovery from events that disrupt business operations. Establishes a framework and methodology to manage all business continuity life cycle activities, including risk assessment, business impact analysis, strategy development, implementation, testing and review, plan maintenance and updates. Being a Disaster Recovery Director leads periodic review, validation, and workflow testing of documented business continuity plans. Develops and implements organization-wide training and communications. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Director supports internal audits and regulatory exams of compliance with required regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. May require the Certified Business Continuity Professional (CBCP) or similar BCP certification. Typically reports to top management. The Disaster Recovery Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Disaster Recovery Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.   • Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s (Master’s preferred) and certified in Early Childhood Education
    • At least five years teaching experience at the Primary level or in specialized reading with primary students
    • Expertise in early literacy learning and classroom practices
    • Skills in human relations, leadership and conflict management
    • Skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills including record keeping
    • Requires at least a three-year commitment to the position

    Job Goal: To provide literacy services and support for children

     

    Reports to: Principal

     

    Job Responsibilities:

    1. Works cooperatively with principals and classroom teachers, and with children in small groups
    2. Attends all training class sessions and required professional development
    3. Teaches a child at least once a year behind the one-way glass
    4. Receives one or two school visits from the teacher leader for guidance and clarification of appropriate procedures
    5. Receives and conducts a school visit with other trained teachers at least annually
    6. Teaches a minimum of four children individually for 30 minutes daily in a school setting
    7. Communicates with school personnel and parents of children
    8. Maintains records on each child as a basis for instruction and completes data forms as specified
    9. Administers “An Observation Survey” to select children for services
    10. Keeps complete records on each child (e.g., lesson records, running records, record of writing vocabulary, record of book level, etc.) to be submitted to the teacher leader
    11. Monitors the progress of children who have completed the program
    12. Maintains tracking information as requested on all participating children
    13. Works with classroom teachers on behalf of each child
    14. Administers “An Observation Survey” as prescribed throughout the year
    15. Implements small group instruction utilizing Reading Recovery strategies
    16. Maintains regular attendance
    17. Collaborates with other Reading Recovery teachers, lead teachers, literacy coaches, and interventionists as well as the district Reading Recovery teacher leader
    18. Serves on MTSS teams and participates in community literacy programs
    19. Other duties as assigned by the principal

     

    Terms of Employment: 190 Contract with salary determined by placement on district teacher salary scale

     

    Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on evaluation of professional personnel.
