Disaster Recovery Manager manages the design, implementation, and communication of business continuance and disaster recovery plans and processes that ensure the security and integrity of company data, databases, information systems, and technology. Conducts risk analysis to identify critical operations and systems that are core to continued business operations in the event of a disruption. Being an Disaster Recovery Manager monitors and tests the plans and back up systems. Manages the contracts with required vendors for off-site and other resources required for business continuation and recovery. Additionally, Disaster Recovery Manager develops and deploys training, documentation, and communication of disaster procedures to the organization. Develops service level recovery standards and agreements with vendors. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Disaster Recovery Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Disaster Recovery Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     JOB SUMMARY

    Under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and the Crisis Residence Coordinator, the Temporary Crisis Residence Manager engages with referred individuals to coordinate activities to form trust-based relationships that foster hope for positive change and personal empowerment leading to successful integration back into the community. Responsible for the oversight of the Renewal Center operations. This is a FT, 37.5 hour a week position. This is a temporary position with the strong possibility of continued employment with our growing agency.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain own personal wellness.
    • Initiate and maintain regular communications/meetings with referred individuals nearing discharge from local area hospitals. May provide assistance to referred individuals that are granted access to visit certain locations within the community that are meaningful to them.
    • Assists referred individuals to post discharge to identify and engage in a range of community-based support groups/efforts.
    • Interprets requests and helps implement action, as well as decides whether the project coordinator/directors should be notified of important or emergency matters, as needed.
    • In absence of their supervisor, ensures that requests for action or information are relayed to the appropriate staff member.
    • Handles a wide variety of situations and conflicts involving the daily interactions with peers. This includes hosting meetings, coordinating activities and resolving conflicts.
    • Attends trainings as required and assigned by supervisor.
    • Prepares and maintains detailed written record of activities to meet documentation and reporting requirements for Recovery Options projects.
    • Reports to and meets with supervisor on a regular basis.
    • Committed to maintain office duties to help the respite house run smoothly.
    • Clerical duties assigned by supervisor including maintaining petty cash and gas card reports.
    • Helps with scheduling and community calendar upkeep. This may include emergency shift coverage.
    • Determine staffing requirements, assist interview, hire and training new employees, or oversee personnel processes. Review turnovers to maintain Agency standards and assist with Performance Appraisals.
    • Helps with training of new and current staff as needed.
    • Maintains inventory of supplies and prepares purchase orders for needed items.
    • Supervisory responsibilities as assigned by Director including timecard and time off approvals.
    • Helps oversee all services as provided with the respite.
    • Facilitate outreach within the community and work directly with staff on continued community support.
    • Responsible for building and maintaining referral relationships that facilitate guest stay at a sufficient capacity to support the fiscal needs of the program.
    • Maintains vehicle maintenance as well as building and grounds care.


    ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    This position does have direct supervisory responsibility for the employees of the respite, including Peer Companions I, II, and III. This position may be required to coordinate the collection or distribution of information to/from various individuals/positions within the company when filling in for the Director as needed.

    COMPLEXITY OF WORK AND DECISION MAKING:

    Works in accordance with policies and regulations which may require judgment, initiative, creativity and the ability to deal with complex factors and making of decisions based on conclusions for which there may be little precedent.

    AUTONOMY AND ACCOUNTABILITY:

    Works from general objectives (such as governmental and agency compliance standards) and broad and varying policies, procedures, rules or precedents with significant functional guidance. Refers specific cases to supervisor for clarification or interpretation. Review by supervisor focuses on achievement of the objective and not necessarily on the means, except when required to ensure compliance with regulations.

    TECHNOLOGY, EQUIPMENT OR TOOLS:

    Microsoft Office skills including Excel, Word and Outlook. Evidence of skills demonstrated by the ability to perform all of the basic functions within each program; including but not limited to maintaining a calendar, sending e-mail, creating letters as well as the ability to create and edit workbooks. Electronic Medical Record skills required. General office equipment is used including fax machine, computer and phone system.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:

    Work follows established practices and operating procedures with some latitude for independent judgment. Maintains strict visual contact with work. May occasionally lift up to (35) thirty-five pounds without mechanical assistance. Work involves sitting, driving, and ambulating from task to task. The noise level in the work environment is usually light.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Bachelor of Arts Degree in Human Services, or related field and three (3) year of experience providing mental health services, with two (2) years of demonstrated management experience OR Associates Degree in Human Services, or related fields and four (4) years experience providing mental health services and three (3) years of demonstrated management experience OR An equivalent amount of education and/or experience in the mental health services field, and proven team leader, coordinator or supervisory skills.
    • Demonstrated experience with and knowledge of the New York State public mental health and substance use system. Lived experience with the mental health system, preferred.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of advocacy, self-help and empowerment programs for recipients of mental health and substance use services. Prior experience in peer advocacy is preferred.
    • Ability to convey a message of hope and recovery for people with psychiatric disabilities.
    • Ability to complete basic documentation requirements regarding work activities. Solid written and oral skills, knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internet/email access, preferred
    • Delineate behaviors behind values of critical care and recovery preferred
    • Wellness Recovery Action Plan Training
    • Completion of a peer advocacy training program or related certification is preferred. Academy of Peer Services Certification must be completed within the employees first 3 months in this position if the employee is not currently certified.
    • Must have own vehicles, clean driving record and adequate automobile insurance coverage
    • Flexible schedule; work hours include evening, weekends and holidays.

    • Must possess advocacy skills; attention to detail; effective communication, writing and documentation skills.
