POSITION SUMMARY:
This position provides customer service, administrative assistance and bookkeeping support for the Lincoln Public Service District by performing and assisting with accounts payables and receivables..
A person in this position provides accurate information to maintain the financial records for the district and in preparing information for budgets and accounting reports. Responsibilities include various financial functions, in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies and procedures. The employee exercises considerable discretion in carrying out work details. This employee is under general supervision.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs accounts receivables; including maintaining computerized accounts receivables
software (ASI experience preferred), generates and sends out statements, posting deposits, collects and allocates payments, balances daily receipts and performs account reconciliations
Research and resolve payment discrepancies
Prepare and coordinate deposit activities for all funds.
Maintains accounts receivables customer files and records
Performs accounts payables; reconciles statements, assigns codes, balances, analyzes discrepancies and submits vouchers for payment
Consults with vendors, customers, operators and county personnel to discuss, formulate and resolve issues for accounts payable
Prepares, distributes and reconciles monthly statements, balances monthly report, prepares balance sheets and conducts reconciliation for each account
Completes and maintains all payroll duties
Provides cash and budget summaries, resolves discrepancies and recommends changes if needed
Assists the Public Service Commission by providing information, reports and responding to requests
Compiles information for new accounts, performs data entry and maintains files related to accounts.
Answers questions from the public regarding questions concerning the district and informs new customers of policies and procedures
Prepares monthly and annual reports and submits to the district manager, board, and state agencies
Provides back-up for the district manager
Maintains records and filing systems, scans documents as necessary, operates standard office equipment
Answers a multi-line telephone and receives complaints and inquiries
Assists the district manager with duties as needed
Provides positive public relations with co-workers and others
Provides for regular and predictable attendance
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
Performs clerical and miscellaneous work assignments as required
Attends meetings, conferences and training
Maintains work area in a clean and safe manner
Performs related work as required
