SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Documentation Specialist is responsible for developing, maintaining, and delivering consistent, accurate documentation for technical stakeholders to include IT Professionals, Development Operations Professionals, and Software Developers
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with technical stakeholders to analyze system requirements and create plans for documentation needs within established timelines and priorities.
- Create and develop quality documentation for technical stakeholders using established templates and standards to produce conceptual, how-to, standard operating procedure, system overview (including diagrams), and API reference documentation for i3 Verticals products and Hosted Systems.
- Collaborate with others regarding documentation production plans and time frames to ensure timely delivery of documentation for zero re-work.
- Collaborate with team to produce conceptual, how-to and API reference documentation for i3 Vertical products.
- Establish and maintain document control systems to track documentation changes and updates in accordance with standards.
- Coordinate documentation editing for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established standards.
- Actively participate in team meetings and requirements reviews by offering ideas, suggestions, and/or feedback as needed.
- Assist Requirements and Test teams with ensuring accuracy of the requirements and testing the software.
- Participate in full performance test lifecycle, including writing step-by-step scripts, conditions and test documentation.
- Create documentation for Professional Services division as needed.
- Perform other projects as assigned by Product Development Team.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE):
- Bachelor’s Degree in English, Computer Science or related field from a four-year college or university.
- Minimum of 3 years technical writing experience.
- Experience writing for IT Professionals, Development Operations Professionals or Developers.
- Experience using multiple documentation tools to write, format, manage, and publish high-quality content.
- Experience working with agile project management methodologies is a plus.
Salary Range: $35,000 - $75,000 annually commensurate with experience
