Scope: A temporary position for an Information Developer III is needed to support an important initiative for the Special Hazards group. This is a Technical Communications position and will interact with product management, marketing and engineering staff to archive, develop and/or convert documentation for the Foam and Foam Hardware line of business.
Impact : Creation and editing of technical documentation in both printed and online help format.
Knowledge: Good writing skills and proficient command of the English language. Understanding of document control and revision. Understanding of good documentation practice and effective document structure.
Problem Solving: Can work through routine issues, but also knows when to escalate and get help.
People/Function Management: N/A
Supervision Received: Supervision by more senior Technical Communications staff and management.
Customer Focus: Must be able to understand specifications and engineering documentation/illustration and transform those into easily useable instructions. Ability to interact with engineers to understand how products work and transform that knowledge into information assets.
Interpersonal Skills: Ability to interact with senior staff as well as engineers from around the world. Adapts readily to changing work demands; maintains composure under pressure. Works effectively with others, shares information, demonstrates integrity and honors commitments.
Preferred Education: Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with relevant experience.
Experience Required: Minimum of 2 years' experience as a technical writer. 0-2 years with an advanced degree.

Knowledge / Skills / Competency Type Qualification
Technical Writing Ability to understand the operation of CLIENT products and transform that understanding into readable technical documentation.
Documentation software Understands how to use sophisticated authoring tools to create well formatted documentation. Working knowledge of
DITA XML would be a distinct advantage.
Document management Good understanding of document and revision control.
