Job Summary
Assist the Crew Lead on a drill rig. Per the decision of the Crew Lead, the Drilling Assistant may be assigned the duties of a Driller (operating the drilling equipment, judging access and utility clearance needs, and maintaining the drill rig and auxiliary vehicle) or of a Logger (collecting and handling soil samples, preparing field logs, etc.
At the beginning of each workday, check with Crew Lead to determine what equipment and materials will be needed for the day’s assignment.
Assemble and load equipment and materials so that the crew can get a timely start to workday.
