The primary purpose of the EEO Officer is to serve as the departmental EEO Officer, responsible for implementing and monitoring the departmental EEO plan and policy, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other related Title VII programs.
This position This position is responsible for drafting and monitoring compliance with the Department’s EEO plan. This position is responsible for developing and conducting EEO training for managers, supervisors, and employees on EEO/ADA laws and other related areas (unlawful workplace harassment, generational differences, etc.).
The departmental EEO Officer is responsible for investigating allegations of unlawful discrimination, unlawful workplace harassment, ADA, and other Title VII issues. Additionally, this position is responsible for reviewing and assessing reasonable accommodations requests under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
This position may be subject to a National and International Background Investigation and/or fingerprinting as required by applicable law.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Basic knowledge of the principles and practices of human resources management that may include Federal and State laws, statutes, and policies pertaining to Title VII, unlawful discrimination, unlawful harassment, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and related issues.
- Basic skill and or experience in performing utilization analysis that may include the development of EEO/AA plans, reporting, summarizing and analyzing EEO information and business needs/resources to recommend plans and strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Agency Human Resource representatives, officials, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment in analyzing situations and making recommendations and/or decisions within delegated level of authority and keep confidentiality when seeking feedback and input from constituents, staff, and leadership.
- Verbal and written communication experience to document and articulate investigative findings as well as discuss sensitive issues with employees and/or managers.
