ERP Programmer develops, reviews, and modifies the programming to support the configuration of the organization's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) applications. Analyzes ERP system performance and encodes and debugs any issues or vulnerabilities to improve the integrity, security, or application of the system. Being an ERP Programmer develops coding to support the programming of new ERP modules and system upgrades and assists with the configuration planning and deployment of releases. Ensures ERP data and system infrastructure security, designs patches for vulnerabilities, and develops backup processes. Additionally, ERP Programmer plans and designs application tables, reports, and new modules to improve system configuration, functionality, and efficiency. Coordinates software integration and maintains technical documentation. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The ERP Programmer work is closely managed.     Client requires two ERP programmers with 5-7 years of ERP development experience for assignment period of 6-12 months.

    ***This is a hybrid position based in Greensboro, NC. The candidate will need to be onsite regularly.

    This position is responsible for technical and analytical work in developing, designing, and/or supporting applications in the implementation, enhancement, and maintenance of Ellucian Banner ERP environment and integration ancillary systems. This Position will participate in the development of solutions using programming expertise for day-to-day problems to include maintenance, modification or development of complex inter-related applications/solutions. Solutions link technical knowledge with business, research and/or instructional solutions and may range from consulting services (software or hardware recommendations) to developing integrated-automated systems. Duties include client needs assessment as well as evaluating hardware availability and software requirements. Employees should be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

    The Applications department is responsible for enterprise-wide university applications. This department provides guidance and oversight of technology implementation, maintenance, and management of enterprise installations. The following units report to this department: 1) Database Administration and Management, 2) Administrative Information Systems (AIS), and 3) Web Support

    Responsibilities include:
    -Functions as the top-level technical contributor in one or more of the most highly specialized phases of applications systems analysis and programming. Lead complex projects involving multiple staff across multiple specialty areas across the organization.
    -Ability to effectively use available tools in problem solving and systems analysis.
    -Ability to perform diagnostics on assigned software and/or hardware according to standard operating procedures.
    -Knowledge of the current architecture of systems and information to troubleshoot problems.
    -Develops operations and technical documentation for new or updated systems and interfaces.
    -Serves as a key resource in solving problems of high level complexity by providing guidance in design and development and systems analysis. Provides technical support as technical resource lead for Banner Student and Campus Enterprise applications
    -Uses detail understanding of technical issues to design architecture for stable technologies and provides direction for technicians and other analysts. Design solutions that integrate with multiple enterprise or departmental systems or interfaces. Devises or modifies applications to solve moderately complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations. Supports technology applications by exploring and adapting to changing technologies.
    -Functions as Team Technical expert

    Serves as a key resource in solving problems of high complexity to other analyst and technicians.
    -Utilizes advanced skills to make technology modifications. Fully understands, exhibits and maintains a high level of technical skill or knowledge in the area of application development and system integration. Applies knowledge of application design and integration, programming, and database design when developing code.
    -Substantial knowledge of principles and concepts behind applications analysis, design analysis, thorough testing and debugging, implementation and documentation.
    -Functions as a Team Technical expert. Investigates, researches and implements new technologies in specialty or related area.
    Ability to work with client to discuss alternative technical solutions.
    Applies broad knowledge of information technology to guide administrators, users, and technical staff
    - Banner Maintenance team member, providing input on Banner scheduling activities
    - Assist technical team in design and coding of technical solutions
    - Shows a sense of urgency when working with critical requests from users/
    - Preemptively notifies users of outages and works to ensure the shortest downtime.
    - Regularly shares technical knowledge for process improvements techniques with Applications Analyst team
