Job Overview:Position Summary
Under the direction of the Art Museum Manager and Curator, performs various tasks as necessary to provide
services for the Administration and implementation of the St. George Art Museum’s educational
programming activities related to art (fine, visual, etc.) and art history.
Essential Functions (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include the

1. Plans and executes all museum classes and camps: including SmART Saturdays, Summer camps,
Spring break camps, and other classes
2. Maintains the museum’s children’s area
3. Oversees the work of other part-time employees and volunteers during assigned shifts or tasks
4. Assists in staff and volunteer training, assignments, recruiting, and evaluation of staff and volunteers,
including docents on tour procedures and camps/classes.
5. Provide customer service in person and over the phone; answering questions and/or referring customers
to appropriate staff members
6. Documents and maintains records for all educational programming, classes, and tours such as
schedules, receipts, inventory of supplies, contracts, etc.
7. Plans and executes the museum’s school tour programming and coordinates with Washington County
School District personnel.
8. Works with IT Team to update and maintain the museum website pages for volunteer efforts and
education events/programming
9. Organizes and prepares Artie’s Discovery Center with monthly crafts and activities
10. Facilitates the monthly Book Club and Art Critique Night
11. May be delegated tasks normally performed by FT employees
12. Works programs and special events taking charge in part or whole of assigned programs, events, or
facilities
13. Aids in the promotion and advertising of programs and special events
14. Registers participants for programs, classes and activities
15. General office and clerical duties
16. Copies and prepares various brochures, flyers, schedules, rosters, etc. for distribution
17. Organizes, cleans, prepares and maintains recreation facilities and other work areas
18. Runs errands
19. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing other related duties as needed
20. Follow all city policies and procedures
Typical Physical/Mental Demands/Working Conditions
Conditions and temperatures may vary depending on the assignment. Requires the use of vision and/or hearing
to identify and evaluate emergencies. Must be able to respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies.
Requires moderately heavy physical activity exerting 25-50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 10-25 pounds
of force frequently. Mental demands of intermittent exposure to stress as a result of human behavior.
Note: Must be available to work weekends, evenings, holidays, and other schedules to help prepare for
museum offerings. This is a part-time position with variable hours averaging less than 28 hours per
week over a period of twelve months.
Qualifications
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Preference given to those with education in arts, education
or a related field. While an arts related internship or practicum is highly desirable, other education may be
substituted. A Bachelor’s degree in an art-related field is preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of one year experience working in programs and special events for the St. George Art Museum, or
a similar organization, showing adequate knowledge and skill in assigned tasks
Customer service experience preferred
