Electric Meter Installer and Repairer jobs in Boulder, CO

An electric meter technician provides construction, installation and replacement services at the electric meter locations. This position is a customer service electric r trade position.

  Pay Rate: $24.00 per hour

Essential Functions:

Roles and Responsibilities: 

• Driving (75%/day) and navigating throughout the Loveland and Longmont area. 
• Entering residential and commercial property to access the water and electric meter to perform required work 
• Construction, installation, maintenance and replacement of water and electric meters and system components.
• Responsible for efficient and proper use of all tools, materials, and equipment
• Responsible for working with energized electric equipment
• Providing customer service with a responsibility to humility and to the customers we serve 
• Working with pride and a high quality of workmanship 

Success Factors: 

• Ability to perform heavy manual labor for extended periods, often under adverse climatic conditions.  
• Ability to lift up to 80 lbs multiple times during a work shift 
• Ability to climb, dig, work in tight spaces (crawl spaces), on uneven surfaces, walking, stooping, and kneeling 
• Ability to understand and follow specific oral and written instructions 
• Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team with co-workers 
• Ability to pass motor vehicle, criminal background check, and comply with drug-free workplace policy 
• English usage sufficient to keep records, place orders, and prepare simple narrative reports  
• Willingness and ability to learn additional skills  

Experience and Education: 

• Two (2 ) plus years of customer service experience preffered
• One (1 ) plus years of working in utility construction or trades preferred
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted on a year to year basis 

Additional Requirements/Licenses/Certifications: 

• Possession of a valid State of Residence Driver’s License is required. 
• Candidates must pass criminal and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) background checks and pass a pre-employment drug screen.
