Being an Electrical Powerline Installer/Repairer may be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electrical Powerline Installer/Repairer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. Western Nebraska Community College is currently accepting applications for the part-time position of Powerline Lab Assistant for the Alliance, Nebraska Campus. This position will work 30 hours per week.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Powerline Program Instructor(s) with supervision of students in the Powerline Program during classroom and lab work, to help ensure safe and successful learning. Assist with student recruitment, and coordination of lab supplies.
Qualifications:
This position is typically held by a recent or former graduate of the WNCC Powerline Program, but other qualified candidates may be considered. Completion of the WNCC Powerline Program preferred. Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate, valid Nebraska driver's license, Class-B minimum, Class-A preferred, and an acceptable driving record that does not exclude the driver from coverage under WNCC’s vehicle insurance.
Salary:
Commensurate, with partial benefits.
