Being an Electrocardiograph Technician edits and forwards final test results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. Requires a high school diploma and is a graduate of an accredited EKG program. Additionally, Electrocardiograph Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     Pay: $18.54 - $24.10 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

    Summary:
    Performs direct patient care and electrocardiograms (ECG's).

    Responsibilities:
    • Reviews provider's orders and performs ancillary tests. Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
    • Prepares equipment and supplies, positions patient and analyzes results. Identifies issues with quality of tracings, including re-positioning patient and repeating procedure.
    • Monitors patient condition continually and reports on or responds to changes in status and adverse results as appropriate.
    • Maintains equipment in clean, working condition. Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
    • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

    Requirements:
    • High School diploma or GED.
    • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
