Emergency Medical Technician jobs in Connecticut
Emergency Medical Technician responds to emergency calls for medical assistance, assesses the situation, obtains a basic medical history and physical examination of the patient, and provides emergency care at the scene and during transit to the hospital. Utilizes necessary medical equipment to treat the patient and ascertains the extent of their injuries or illness. Being an Emergency Medical Technician communicates with the medical care facility receiving the patient about the patient's condition, status, and arrival time. May require registry in NREMT. Additionally, Emergency Medical Technician requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Emergency Medical Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Lisbon Emergency Response (LER) is seeking part time per diem (at will) firefighter EMT's.
Shifts consist of 10-hour days (7am to 5pm) also covering some night shifts. Pier-Diem staff duties include but not limited to Fire Suppression, Fire Rescue, EMS Services, and Equipment Maintenance.Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications below:
-21 Years of Age-Strong Leadership Skills Required
-Firefighter 2 Certification
-Haz-Mat Ops
-CT Licensed EMT
-Valid Drivers License CDL or Q Endorsement.
-Must be able to establish and maintain a good working relationship with the Volunteers of the Lisbon Fire Department, mutual aid fire departments, hospital staff, police departments, and general public.
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour for Firefighter EMT's.
