Employee Development Specialist implements and supports programs aligned with leadership development strategy and strategic business imperatives to develop management capabilities throughout the workforce. Maintains frameworks that represent skills and leadership capabilities that are critical to long-term and short-term objectives. Being a Employee Development Specialist supports training, coaching, professional development, and experiential assignments that make up the leadership development strategy. Fosters a culture of informal knowledge exchange, coaching, and training throughout the organization to engage and develop the workforce. Additionally, Employee Development Specialist promotes training and development programs and career pathing initiatives. Prepares analysis and reporting of leadership development efforts and results. May participate in periodic succession planning exercises and talent assessments to ensure critical roles are defined. Helps to create slates of individuals identified for leadership development activities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Employee Development Specialist occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     EMPLOYEE DEVELOPMENT LEADER I

    Exempt

    Reports to: Vice President Culture & Employee Development


    Position Overview

    The primary purpose of this position is to assist Members First Credit Union to deliver on its mission: To encourage a better tomorrow.     Essential Duties

    • Inspire a culture of purpose by encouraging a sense of belonging and bringing joy to the employee journey.
    • Through leadership, create an engaging environment for team members to allow for development.
    • Develop a team that has a passion for strategic progress and strives for continuous improvement of the Employee Life Cycle.
    • Assist with the design and implementation of employee life cycle strategies.
    • Lead initiatives to inspire and support team members throughout their employee journey from onboarding to ongoing development.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with stakeholders to create and implement strategies for onboarding, training, career development and offboarding.
    • Provide guidance and mentorship to the employee development team, fostering their professional growth and development.
    • Actively participate in enterprise-level projects to ensure employee development considerations are integrated into organizational strategies and initiatives.
    • Oversee all aspects of employee training and education, including new employee orientation, skills development initiatives and ongoing learning opportunities.
    • Champion a culture of continuous learning and development. Identify training needs and opportunities for skill enhancements across the organization.
    • Help to identify and communicate any foreseen roadblocks or challenges interfering with a successful project completion.
    • Identify and assess future training needs through feedback, analysis of jobs, career paths, evaluations/surveys and collaborating with leaders and team members.
    • Work with compliance and policy/procedure experts to ensure all presentation and other training materials are up to date and follow applicable regulatory compliance.
    • Coordinate and deliver training to aid in the professional development of the M1 Community, including but not limited to such topics as member services, sales training, core system, lending software, new accounts and other credit union specific needs.
    • Maintain a budget for Employee Development Team
    • Offer insight, thoughts based on experience, and ideas on strategies and projects to ensure positive outcomes.
    • Attend educational opportunities and meetings as required. Prepare pre and post write-ups on the educational experience and ideas for implementation.
    • Fulfill other duties that may be assigned.

    Work Environment

    • Must maintain a neat and orderly work area.
    • Routinely clean and disinfect work areas (i.e. teller stations, desk surfaces, phones, electronic equipment).
    • Protect the confidentiality of credit union staff and members by locking door or removing items from desk/workstation when away.

    Education and Experience

    • (1)A bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or a related field or (2) achievement of formal certifications recognized in the industry as equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
    • One to three years of experience in employee development, talent management or related roles.
    • One to three years of experience in leadership capacity.
    • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS)
    • Skills in Microsoft office products
