Endoscopy Technician performs various direct patient care activities in the endoscopy unit under the supervision of a physician. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly. The Endoscopy Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline.   • Overview

    Assists physicians in prescribed medical treatment and personal care services to patients in the hospital setting by performing the following duties supporting the nursing philosophy. May include day, evening, night, weekend, holiday, and/or on-call hours.
    Responsibilities

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Serves as resource person for Endoscopy equipment used.
    • Evaluates new equipment, orders and restocks supplies.
    • Does periodic check of schedule for specific supplies, requests by physicians/Lead RN.
    • Works with Materials to stay within contact to control costs.
    • Assists physician procedures.
    • Communicates with appropriate departments concerning equipment problems.
    • Participates in Quality Management program, standards, policies and procedures.

    Education and Experience

    High School Education or equivalent


    Certification and Licensure

    Active on CNA registry or Active LPN license in state of practice preferred.
    Approved CPR certification required within 90 days (Other certification per unit requirements: ACLS, PALS, PEARS, NRP)
