Enterprise Infrastructure Manager manages and coordinates the information systems that will adequately support the organization's enterprise infrastructure. Monitors and manages all IT infrastructure projects to meet company and client needs. Being an Enterprise Infrastructure Manager determines current and future enterprise infrastructure needs, ensuring the scalability of infrastructure design to handle expected growth. Implements policies and procedures to maintain, enhance, and secure an organization's technology infrastructure. Additionally, Enterprise Infrastructure Manager is responsible for monitoring the systems to ensure the highest level of infrastructure performance. May assist in network interface planning, hardware resource availability, and the development of new applications. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Enterprise Infrastructure Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Enterprise Infrastructure Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     JOB PURPOSE:

    Line management of the engineering and drafting departments for the operation.  Manage budgets and schedules for commercial orders and manage all research and development activities. Provide technical expertise and guidance for the operation.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (other duties may be assigned):
     
    • Manage engineering department consisting of both engineering and drafting personnel.
    • Develop and implement budgets for all engineering related activities including research and development.
    • Develop and implement training programs to ensure that department personnel remain current with acceptable industry practices, and they are provided with the correct training to support their assigned tasks and advancement in the department.
    • Provide expert guidance to the department for product design and development.
    • Administer a plan for product development to support continued product and productivity improvements.
    • Coordinate research and development activities and coordinate development activities with other operating units as applicable.
    • Perform electrical stress analysis on components and modify shapes to reduce and minimize electrical stresses.
    • Participate in industry standards activities to ensure the operation remains compliant with all revenant standards and that standards are guided to be compatible with the operations’ product lines.
    • Provide day-to-day design engineering authority for the operation including drawing and specification review and authorization.
    • Provide technical support to other Operation functions including manufacturing and sales.

    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES (list below, if applicable):

    Yes, serves as direct report for all Engineering & Drafting Supervisor.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Equipment Used: General office equipment (telephone, computer, fax, copier, etc.)
    • Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Membership in IEEE
    • Knowledge/Skills:  Extensive design and manufacturing experience with SF6 and related electrical equipment. Must possess a working knowledge of dielectric, mechanical and pressure vessel design requirements, preferably on high voltage transmission equipment familiarity with standards governing the SF6 product line including ANSE, IEC, NEMA, and CENELEC required. Ability to present the technical aspects to the products to customers and other industry representatives including competitors, standards committee members, and government agencies.  Ability to perform electrical stress analysis using Electro, Coulomb, COMSOL or similar software on components to minimize stress.  Changes component geometry to reduce electrical stress.
    • Education/Experience:  BSEE or BSME with 12-15 years' experience with SF6 equipment in the electric power industry, preferably in high voltage.
    • Language Skills:  Able to read, analyze, and interpret technical journals, financial reports, and governmental regulations.  Able to respond to inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.  Able to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.  Able to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
    • Mathematical Skills:  Able to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, quadratic equations, and permutations.  Able to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.
    • Reasoning Ability: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
    • Attendance Requirement:  Regular attendance required during normal office hours.
    • Travel Requirement:  Occasional overnight/out-of-state travel.
    • Physical Demands: Office position, primarily sedentary.  Spends at least 2/3 of time talking/hearing, reading, and using hands/fingers.  Generally, spends equal amounts of time (1/3 each) seated, standing, and walking.  Generally, requires clear vision at 20 inches or less.
    • Work Environment: Temperature-controlled office with moderate noise level.
