JOB SUMMARY:
The Aleut Enterprise (AE) Operations Manager will manage day-to-day operations of Aleut Enterprise’s subsidiary businesses, including Adak Island Inn, Adak Marine Services, Adak Petroleum, Aleut Fisheries, and Frosty Fuels. The Operations Manager will also support the development and execution of maintenance, capital projects, and regulatory compliance for Aleut Enterprise and its subsidiaries.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Embraces the mission of The Aleut Corporation and Aleut Enterprise.
• Ensures safe operations of all subsidiary businesses, including compliance with Alaska Department of Environmental Compliance (ADEC) and other regulatory agencies.
• Provides day-to-day management to all field operations staff.
• Directs and implements Aleut Enterprise operational policies, objectives, and initiatives.
• Supports the development of new policies, objectives, and initiatives when appropriate.
• Provides day to day management and supervision to all field operations staff.
• Supports purchases for Aleut Enterprise subsidiaries and plans logistics for bulk fuel deliveries.
• Supports the development of operating/capital budgets for all operations, assists in invoice creation/tracking for smaller subsidiaries, and participates in regular AE financial reviews.
• Travels to subsidiary businesses located in Cold Bay and Adak regularly.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
• Experience in tourism/hospitality, ideally front office management or food and beverage; two-four years of experience preferred.
• Experience in fuel terminal operations (aviation and marine), fuel purchasing, and sales.
• Experience with accounting and/or finance.
• Skill in Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Word, etc.)
• Skill in project management.
• Skill in planning, organization, and time management.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact in a team environment and foster positive relationships.
• Ability to analyze and problem solve throughout major projects as well as day to day work.
MINIMUM QAULIFICATOINS
1. Bachelors Degree in Business Management or related field or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
2. Five (5) years' experience in managing operations in related field.
3. Must possess and maintain an Alaska Driver’s License.
4. Must possess a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) or be qualified to receive one within six months of hiring.
