  • Job Summary & Essential Functions

    Provide vision and leadership for designing, developing, and implementing manufacturing initiatives and programs that create business value and align with company goals.   Ensure continuous improvement initiatives and programs are reliable, cost effective, and strategically sound; reflecting the quality that aligns with company goals and plans.  Areas of responsibilities include Production, Production Control, and Manufacturing Engineering.

    • Ensure the necessary coordination and direction is given to the manufacturing team to meet customers’ expectations
    • Ensure the production schedule is developed and maintained to deliver quality products on time
    • Lead continuous improvement, prevention of defects, and lean manufacturing / Six Sigma concepts to ensure the most cost-effective manufacturing methods are deployed
    • Manage facility maintenance for safety and regulatory compliance including environmental requirements
    • Support quality initiatives including root cause analysis, development of corrective actions and implementation of changes
    • Promote the concept of individual responsibility for product excellence
    • Provide leadership for and development of direct reports by establishing priorities, accountabilities and allocating resources: guiding achievement of performance measures
    • Establish specific departmental goals, objectives, and action plans to support facility goals and schedules
    • Lead the development of strategic plans to support the future direction of department
    • Create a positive work environment and set the standard for interdepartmental cooperation
    • Encourage timeliness, decisiveness, and clarity within department that assure actions are appropriate to meet goals
    • Provide input for recruiting, selection, compensation, promotions, terminations, and transfers
    • Monitor key performance indicators and act as necessary to correct discrepancies
    • Complete weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports to management
       
       

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    • Ability to implement new manufacturing techniques and drive continuous improvement in existing manufacturing methods
    • Knowledge of SPC, TQM, Lean Manufacturing, ISO standards, and IPC standards
    • Expert knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes
    • Intermediate level in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook); MRP/ERP 
    • Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail to produce quality results
    • Strong planning and organizational skills including the ability to initiate, prioritize, and allocate resources 
    • Ability to effectively communicate in all forms with others inside and outside the organization
    • Ability to negotiate and manage conflict tactfully and professionally 
    • Strong leadership and people management skills including team building, mentoring, and coaching
    • Strong decision-making skills; utilizing sound judgement and thorough processes 
    • Ability to problem solve issues involving multiple variables and limited standardization
    • Ability to be creative and innovative with approaches to solutions and solving complex problems
    • Ability to multitask efficiently and adapt within a rapidly changing environment
    • Ability to communicate with customers projecting the company image to attract business
       
       

    Required Experience & Education 

    • Bachelor’s degree in related technical field 
    • Minimum 10 years progressive relevant job experience with 5 years supervisory experience
    • Previous experience in manufacturing environment
    • Project management including planning, budgeting and allocating of resources
