Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises engineers who develop, implement and maintain company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. The Operations Supervisor is responsible for Supervising the day-to-day activities of the employees within the division and/or service line of the business. Ensures that all employees understand their role in the safety program. Ensures compliance is managed in accordance with the Customer’s requirements and the Company’s programs, policies, and procedures.

    Essential Duties: 

    • Provides leadership in achieving health and safety goals. Proactively identifies safety and environmental issues and ensures compliance with Federal, State, Company and client standards.  Ensures that issues are identified, addressed, and elevated, if necessary, in a timely manner.  Works with HSE to recommend long-range accident reduction and cost containment objectives.
    • Attend and support customer/contractor pre-job safety meetings, as required.
    • Responsible for setting up projects in Salesforce and overseeing projects.
    • Facilitates or participates in incident investigations and near miss reporting. Collects data, establishes facts, performs root cause analysis and draws valid conclusions.  Recommends and implements corrective and preventative actions.  Prepares required documentation and incident reporting and creates safety alerts, as necessary.
    • Implements and maintains programs for nurturing an effective Safety Culture. Educates and coaches employees on health and safety issues to ensure well-being and efficiency.
    • Monitors training requirements, schedules training and updates ISNetworld to ensure employees can report offshore.
    • Reviews daily reports and coaches’ employees on continuous improvement.
    • Assists with special projects as assigned. May occasionally be called upon to fill in or help handle excess workload demands.  Oversees contractors as required.

    Skills and Experience: 

    •  A minimum of five years of HSE-related experience in the oil & gas  industry with at least one (1) year of leadership experience. 
    • Use of analytical, organizational and observation skills that demonstrate the ability to grasp concepts or needs, and organize, implement and manage programs/solutions.  Must demonstrate leadership in all areas of responsibility.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of BSEE (Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement) and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Hazards Administration) regulations and requirements. Knowledge of State and Federal laws, local ordinances, and other rules and regulations associated with facility and employee Health & Safety.
    • Ability to identify regulations as they apply to real time situations and effectively make the right decision with little or no management guidance. 
    • Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures is essential.
    • Experience in a Health, Safety & environment role within the oil & gas industry. 
    • Experience performing Incident Investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
    • Effective communication (written, verbal and listening) and interpersonal skills. 
    • Experience with technical writing (operating procedures, policies, incident investigation reports).
    • Experience creating and providing/delivering training presentations.
    • Ability to effectively interact with and develop and maintain strong rapport and credibility with all levels of employees within Total Safety and client site. 
    • Organization skills and self-motivation are critical to the success of this position.
    • Must possess high ethical standards demonstrated by your approach to business.
    • Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, an unwavering commitment to safety and health and other company policies and procedures.
    • Proficiency with MS Office and other function-specific software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Interpersonal Communications: Must be able to communicate effectively in both spoken and written communications with all levels of the organization and customers. Ability to speak Spanish, or other second language considered a plus.

    Working Environment: 

    Combination of office and shop environments.  Some exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, outside and extreme weather conditions, moving mechanical parts and high elevations. 

    Education Requirements: 

    Occupational safety/health degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or oil & gas industry related safety and health experience.
