Job Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team. The Safety Officer will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and possess excellent risk management and compliance management skills.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend corrective actions
- Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures
- Provide safety training to employees on topics such as hazard recognition, emergency response, and personal protective equipment (PPE)
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, inspections, training sessions, and corrective actions
- Collaborate with management to develop emergency response plans and conduct drills
- Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and changes in safety regulations
- Coordinate with external agencies for inspections, permits, and certifications
Skills:
-CHST required
- 10 Years construction experience- Degree in Safety preferred
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards
- Ability to assess risks and develop effective risk management strategies
- Familiarity with construction management software for tracking safety-related data
- Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements for electrical safety
- Understanding of workers' compensation laws and procedures
- Experience in construction management or occupational health is required
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
