Planners are responsible for planning and establishing schedules for a defined segment of our manufacturing operation, involving highly diversified parts, and assemblies to conform to requirements of the mater production schedule. They work with the purchasing department to ensure sufficient parts are planned and released to support production schedules. Planners monitor material inventories, track progress of production and review factors that affect schedules. They make necessary modifications to schedules, issue orders to appropriate departments or suppliers due to revisions. Planners analyze and adjust schedules, as necessary, driven by changes in Master Schedule, raw material availability, or production constraints. Balance inventory plan with production constraints considering Master schedule and corporate goals. They perform activities required to implement Engineering design changes as assigned.
