Equipment Director directs the management of company equipment including procurement activities, preventative maintenance, repair/replacement and safety assurance. Manages the records, licenses, inspections, warrantees, and service agreements for the organization's equipment and tools. Being an Equipment Director minimizes organizational cost through product standardization and tracking. Document and tracks equipment performance throughout the product lifetime. Additionally, Equipment Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Equipment Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be an Equipment Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Purpose:

    To generate new revenue through identifying, connecting, and pursuing existing and potential clientele. FMI Equipment is a one-stop-shop dealership which provides our customers with an opportunity to maximize uptime, have access to high quality products, and personalized sales experience from a dedicated sales representative.

    Duties:

    • Maintain new and existing book of business
    • Drive and contribute to sales of all service lines that FMI Equipment (Whole Goods, Parts, Service, Rentals)
    • Prospecting new clientele both over the phone and through on-site demonstration outside of our showroom locations
    • Provide pricing quotations to customers
    • Execute appropriate sale and service documents in a timely and accurate manner
    • Network calling previous customers to keep FMI Equipment relevant through a weekly call list
    • Consistent and accurate data management in CRM and inventory systems
    • Recommend products and services to existing and potential customers
    • Instruct customers on safe and proper use of equipment
    • Attend trade shows and promote FMI Equipment and our lineup of products
    • Participate in networking opportunities through industry shows and customer sponsored events
    • Other duties as assigned

    Responsibilities:

    • Build and maintain long term customer relationships
    • Continued education on all product lines including use, troubleshooting, and FAQ’s
    • Maintain professional appearance while promoting FMI Equipment through logo attire
    • Customer satisfaction is the key to success
    • Ensure timely delivery of equipment

    • Ability work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
    • Use of large motor skills to sit/stand/walk/stoop/kneel/reach for 6 hours per day
    • Use of fine motor skills to grasp/pull/push/type/write for 6 hours per day
    • Consistently see/hear/speak/track and remember conversations
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. unassisted
    • Ability to operate desk phone or cellular phone with or without the use of a headset
    • Frequent exposure to computer screens, smartphone screens, and fluorescent lighting for 6 hours per day
    • Occasional exposure to excessive noise throughout a standard workday

    Skills and Education:

    • Proficiency with internal systems and multiple product lines
    • Minimum 2 years outside sales experience
    • Sales experience in rentals or sales within the construction, heavy equipment, or related industries is preferred
    • Proven excellent customer service skills
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Excellent computer skills including ability to learn CRM software and Microsoft Office
    • Self-confidence, discipline, and perseverance are critical in this role
    • Proven track record for meeting/exceeding sales goals
    • Ability to work in a team environment with or without supervision
    • CDL is a plus, not required
    • Must be willing to submit background check and DMV screening
