Ethics & Compliance Training Specialist conducts needs analyses and designs and implements ethics, business conduct and compliance training and development programs. Interfaces with multiple functional groups outside the ethics and compliance office to ensure curriculum content and methods meet legal, regulatory and corporate objectives. Being an Ethics & Compliance Training Specialist participates in the development and implementation of classroom, web-based and other media training programs for all employees designed to promote knowledge of the corporate code of conduct policies, legal and regulatory requirements of the organization's business. Coordinates with and ensures a uniform level of ethics and compliance training among operating units of the corporation. Additionally, Ethics & Compliance Training Specialist coordinates both internal and external resources required by the program. Provides technical expertise, evaluates content and makes recommendation on incorporating all facets of corporate training programs into the business operation. Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. To be an Ethics & Compliance Training Specialist typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Overview​ ​of​ ​Role 

    As a Regulatory Compliance Analyst/Specialist with a knowledge of and experience in US product safety and environmental regulations, you will be working as part of our Global Regulatory Compliance Team (GRCT). The GRCT is responsible for monitoring global regulatory developments, both enacted and proposed, as well as supporting information, such as guidance documents, on a wide range of topics, from product safety to environmental to occupational health & safety. 

    The Regulatory Compliance Analyst/Specialist (RCS) will be responsible for tracking regulatory developments globally in the US at both federal and state level as well as certain other designated countries if required and inputting this information into our online database ‘C2P’ (Compliance to Product) in a structured format, providing an overview of the regulatory information and identifying key details such as when the measure enters into force & upcoming compliance deadlines. 

    Additionally, the RCS will take on responsibility for a specific content area in C2P, actively developing and deepening their knowledge of the area & answering queries on the content from within the team as well as externally e.g. the sales team & clients.


    The RCS will also be expected to handle more complex research tasks and aid in researching answers to client queries which come through our “Ask Our Experts” function. 

    Key​ ​Responsibilities: 

    KRA​ ​1:​ ​ ​Monitoring 

    • Monitor regulatory developments for the USA (federal and state) in addition to other specified countries if required; 
    • Ensure a comprehensive & reliable bank of sources of regulatory information is built up & maintained to ensure effective and optimal monitoring; 
    • Own and maintain ‘Country Monitoring SOPs’ for the USA (federal and state) and other countries that may be assigned and ensuring sources of regulatory information & any useful information to aid monitoring is recorded and current; 
    • Utilise automatic monitoring tools to maximise the efficient and prompt capture of regulatory information. 

    KRA​ ​2:​ ​Entry​ ​of​ ​Regulatory​ ​Information​ ​into​ ​C2P 

    • Enter regulatory and supporting sources into C2P for the USA (federal and state) and other countries as required in line with established data entry conventions; 
    • Ensure all information added to C2P is accurate & exhibits a keen attention to detail; 
    • Extract key requirements and other relevant details  (eg compliance deadlines, products and chemicals in scope, entry into fore dates etc) from sources to enable C2P users to assess relevance of the regulatory and supporting measures to their business; 
    • Add regulatory updates on US federal and state regulatory developments of importance and interest to clients 

    KRA​ ​3:​ ​Research 

    • Conduct research in the field of US federal and state regulations and standards (and other countries as may be required) in response to client queries which come through our “Ask Our Experts” function or a part of a managed services project. 

    KRA​ ​4:​ ​Subject Matter Expertise

    • Strong knowledge and understanding of all areas of coverage in C2P database;
    • Become the go-to person for a specific content area(s) in C2P; 
    • Maintain the Content Boundary Document for your responsible area;
    • Provide guidance & answer queries on your specialised area both to within the team and externally e.g. the sales team & clients. 

    KRA​ ​5:​ ​Process​ ​Improvements 

    • Actively engaging in ongoing changes to GRCT processes in order to improve team efficiency as well as pro-actively contributing ideas and suggestions for improvement.

    Qualifications,​ ​Experience​ ​&​ ​Skills 

      • Degree in Law, Business, Library & Information studies or equivalent. Postgraduate or Masters in Law or equivalent desirable. Other degrees (such as Science / Chemistry / Electronic Engineering) may be considered if the candidate has industry regulatory experience and/or strong research, writing and language skills.
      • Experience in product regulatory compliance, industry (e.g. electronic appliances, industrial machinery, power tools, garden machinery, apparel/clothing/textiles) or related fields such as product design, labeling, restricted substances, safety and/ or testing desirable.
      • Experienced researcher; 
      • Significant knowledge of US environmental, product compliance, ESG/sustainability or associated regulations including California Prop 65, Consumer Product Safety Act, Toxic Substances Control Act,  Energy Conservation Program for Consumer Products etc
      • Excellent project and time management skills; 
      • Language skills preferred (particularly Thai, Vietnamese or Korean) but not essential; 
      • Proficient in the use of computers.

      The successful candidate will be a hard working, self-motivated, strong communicator with good problem solving skills, initiative and attention to detail.
