    What is the opportunity?

    The Director of Supply Chain Management will coordinate, organize, and oversee all activities relating to procurement, inventory, shipping, equipment sales, and logistics to enhance global supply chain efficiency within the organization. This position will be responsible for developing strategic oversight and planning within the supply chain processes and procedures to ensure effective and timely availability of materials and equipment. This includes sourcing goods, receiving new materials, inventory management, production of assemblies, sale of equipment, logistics, and vehicle fleet management. This full-time position is located at Water Missions headquarters in North Charleston, South Carolina and will report to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

    A successful Supply Chain Director will:
    • Maintain a strong Christian witness and model servant leadership to colleagues, partners, the communities we serve, and the public.
    • Engage and participate in prayer before and after team meetings.
    • Lead and participate in biblically based staff devotions.
    • Lead and coordinate the activities of the Supply Chain Management department in the US and develop a cohesive, new department consisting of the existing procurement, logistics, and equipping sales staff in the US.
    • Indirectly oversee and support supply chain management within country programs and disaster response activities.
    • Develop and revise departmental policies and procedures, as well as training materials, for US and international staff and evaluate results and performance
    • Maintain responsibility for the annual budget of the supply chain management department and ensure adherence to budget.
    • Implement effective inventory management and supply chain practices to reduce cost.
    • Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including supply chain disruptions due to geopolitical factors and changes in regulation.
    • Advise the CFO regarding compliance with customs laws in the countries in which the organization operates.
    • Collaborate with and maintain the relationships within cross-functional teams inside and outside the organization including finance, engineering, international staff, and strategic business partners.
    • Monitor performance of suppliers and assessing quality and delivery requirements.
    • Stay informed of best practices and emerging trends within the supply chain environment.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    What is required?

    • At least 5 years’ experience in supply chain management.
    • At least 5 years' experience in leadership.
    • Bachelor's degree required.
    • Strong leadership and people management skills.
    • Familiarity with WaSH parts and assemblies, as well as OSHA standards.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to lift 30 pounds at times.
    • Ability to operate a forklift.
    • Ability to travel internationally for 10 days at a time up to twice annually
    • Experience in WaSH preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly articulate ideas and feedback constructively.
    • Home internet bandwidth strong enough to support video conferencing and other job-related responsibilities.
    • Commitment to ending the global water crisis.
    • Legal authorization to work in the United States without sponsorship.
