Exercise Physiologist develops, implements, and evaluates exercise programs for patients. Conducts testing that assesses cardiovascular and metabolic effects of exercise for cardiac and musculoskeletal rehabilitation. Being an Exercise Physiologist follows testing protocols and selects appropriate testing protocol for the patient. Monitors patient during testing. Additionally, Exercise Physiologist calculates and records testing results. Coordinates with cross-functional patient care teams. May design exercise prescriptions, instructional materials, home exercise guidelines, and discharge instructions. Conducts exercise training sessions for patients. Requires a bachelor's degree in exercise physiology. Typically reports to a manager. The Exercise Physiologist work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. ARC Health & Wellness is a Specialized Medical Group that exclusively serves Police Officers and Firefighters conducting Annual Comprehensive Medical Evaluations. We are looking for an Exercise Physiologist to assist with Cardiac Stress Testing with a Treadmill (Bruce Protocol) and Cardiopulmonary Exercise Testing (VO2 Max Testing).
Duties:
- Conduct patient assessments to determine their exercise needs and goals. - Monitor patients during exercise sessions to ensure safety and proper form. - Use medical terminology and knowledge of anatomy and physiology to assess patients' health status. - Monitor vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, during exercise sessions. - Provide health coaching to motivate and support patients in making positive lifestyle changes. - Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure optimal outcomes. - Maintain accurate documentation of patient progress and treatment plans.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology or related field. - Certification as an Exercise Physiologist or eligibility for certification. - Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology. - Experience conducting patient assessments and developing exercise programs. - Excellent communication skills with the ability to effectively educate and motivate patients. - Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team. - Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. - Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
