Core Job Description: Provide superior service to visitors and Birthday Party/Event participants. Organize, manage and assist with daily activities for visitation and party/event bookings.
Party/Event Responsibilities Include:
· Introduce yourself to party parents, inform them that you are assigned to their liaison/guide throughout the duration of the party
· Always be sure to escort them to their car with cart to help load and unload items
· Maintain fun, outgoing attitude toward children and birthday party guests
· Provide a fun and safe experience for birthday party guests.
· Prepare party room for each party. Sweep and mop floors and wipe all chairs down before and in between parties
· Set up and clean up for birthday parties.
· Assist with craft, engaging children and providing supplies as needed
· Assist in serving food, cake and any additional assistance party parents need.
· Interact with party guests and parents.
· Provide excellent customer service by welcoming and engaging guests, answering questions and resolving problems (referring tougher problems to the supervisor as necessary)
· Inform Guests of the museum layout, events, activities and exhibits
· Maintain a clean party room closet. Organize all areas and keep swept and mopped
· Perform opening and closing procedures in museum areas
· Maintain a clean and sanitary environment in all exhibit spaces including, floors, all surfaces and pieces related to exhibits.
· Maintain control of various exhibits and evaluate need in regards to restocking supplies
· Work independently and as a team player to ensure that museum exhibits, restrooms, floors and all public areas are clean as needed and presentable to guests at all time.
· Learn and understand the function of the exhibits and how to best utilize each exhibit to ensure that guests have a fun, unique and memorable visit
· Reset museum exhibits promptly to maintain seamless experience for guests
· Encourage museum guests to complete satisfaction surveys
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
Visitor Experience Role Includes:
· Displaying role model characteristics in duties and demeanor
· Maintain Safe and Clean Museum Environment by:
o Walking through Museum making sure all thru ways are clear of debris or obstacles
o Upkeep of bathrooms, snack area, reusable exhibit products, spills, and general cleanliness
o Cleaning props and exhibits throughout the day
o Participating in prep and cleaning for parties and events
o Provides assistance to Exhibits and Programming staff as needed
o Be respectful of visitors concerns and report immediately to your direct supervisor with any confrontational situations
· Maintain a Safe Museum Environment by:
o Following and enforcing Museum standards and policies
o Communicating any potential or active problems to the appropriate Museum staff
o Assisting in lost child/caregiver response
o Keeping public areas clean and organized
o Keeping all exhibit spaces neat and organized
o Address all spills immediately by marking with Wet Floor sign, then mop or clean area immediately
o Make sure all exterior doors are fully closed at all times
o Check restrooms throughout the day-
§ Wipe Countertops
§ Replace missing paper towels and toilet paper
§ Pick up all trash from floors- even small pieces
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor
