Extrusion Operator, Sr. sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator, Sr. adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator, Sr. may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Extrusion Operator, Sr. works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The Extrusion Tech is responsible for the product that is being extruded as described by the production work order and quality check sheet. The primary function is to monitor the material from the extruder through the calibration table, all additional downstream until packaging. The Tech will make necessary adjustments to keep the product within the quality guidelines as determined by the customer, including but not limited to; dimensional and cosmetic standards, material handling, paperwork and assist Techs as necessary.
