PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Ensure that Facilities infrastructure is designed, constructed, operated, and maintained in
accordance with business needs, internal and external regulatory requirements, and best
practices within the industry.
RESPONSIBILITY AND AUTHORITY:
The Facility Engineer will be responsible for assessing the facility's resource requirements,
designing and optimizing the facility's layout and critical operational systems, and overseeing the
maintenance of infrastructure and equipment. Areas include exterior site features, buildings,
mechanical systems, HVAC, power distribution, building automation, lighting, emergency power,
etc…
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITIONS:
1) Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and policies
2) Follow and comply with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the employee Environmental
Health and Safety programs
3) Follows and supports and Magna’s operating principles, including:

4) Perform engineering assessments of existing infrastructure
5) Assist maintenance personnel with technical support
6) Oversee the design and implementation of buildings and infrastructure
7) Specify all new infrastructure : buildings and equipment
8) Make recommendations for improved operation, maintenance, and reliability
9) Ensure compliance with corporate regulation, building codes, NFPA, OSHA, NEC,
ASHRAE, etc..
10) Develop and maintain drawings, specifications, O&M documents, and other engineering
documents
11) Promotes good housekeeping (5S)
12) Perform other duties as required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
SKILL (Ability to do the job)
Experience with AutoCAD or other drafting software.
Experience reading construction drawings, P&IDs, technical illustrations
Knowledge of the building process and construction principles.
Knowledge of relevant regulations and building codes.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Project management skills.

EQUIPMENT / TOOLS USED
Some of the equipment and tools used are computers, flow meters, multi-meters, infrared
cameras, tachometers, mechanical and electrical hand tools
KNOWLEDGE
EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical or electrical engineering from an
accredited institution- required
TECHNICAL TRAINING: OSHA training, ASHRAE, ASME, or IEEE memberships- preferred
