    Why This is an Exciting Role:

    In this role, you will be a requirements and verification engineer focusing on GMD facilities using engineering methodologies for requirements allocation. You will assist in planning and executing GMD Facilities requirements and verification for the upgrades to the GMD Element. 

    As a System Engineer on this team you will:

    Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions in support of the Missile Defense Agency Ground Based Mid-Course defense system. The position activities include the evaluation of customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.  The specific tasks associated with this position are:

    • Perform the definition of high level functional and performance requirements and the associated verification methods.
    • Perform systems analysis, decomposition, and derivation of lower level requirements.
    • Develop and allocate lower-level requirements to physical and functional architectural elements, track them through design, verification, integration, and operational validation.
    • Develop interface requirements and the associated verification methods and criteria based on system interoperability and performance requirements.
    • Supports requirement and verification working groups
    • Develop interface requirement and design documentation based on system interoperability and performance requirements.
    • Support Interface Control Working Groups with the customer and components
    • Support development of requirement verification planning and supporting verification documentation.
    • Support coordinate element level technical reviews
    • Support risk, issues, and opportunity management processes
    • Support resolution of cross-functional technical issues.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    To be eligible for this demanding position, the ideal candidate should demonstrate the following experience and qualifications:  

    Required Education and Years of Experience:

    • Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 0 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master 3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

     

    Required Qualifications: ​

    • Knowledge of systems engineering disciplines and processes.
    • Ability to work independently taking the initiative to determine the work to be performed and pursue the training, mentoring, and skills necessary to     perform the task.
    • Ability to perform analysis of system of systems and develop interoperability requirements for lower level systems.
    • Ability to develop and apply verification and validation methodologies, processes, logic, and planning.
    • Ability to define functional interface requirements for allocation to design documentation.
    • Ability to work across program functions to perform issue analysis and development of resolution paths forward.

     

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience in systems integration and interface definition
    • Experience with developing and managing interface control documents
    • Experience with requirements and verification/validation within Systems Engineering
    • Experience with DOORS, Cameo, and SysML
    • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering
    • Experience with or on, the GMD program, working with the Missile Defense Agency

    This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship as a condition of employment. ( An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start is required.)

     

    This position requires clearing a background check and an enhanced Personal Conflict of Interest (PCI) requirements as a condition for employment.

     

    Summary Pay Range:

    Please note that the information shown below is a general guideline only. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
