The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. The Maintenance Technician is a mechanically/technically-minded, people-oriented individual who will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. In this role, the Technician will handle a wide variety of tasks from basic carpentry, troubleshooting and managing facility issues, coordinating both preventative and reactive maintenance work to handling small building and grounds projects. Working on building and grounds projects can expose an individual to many safety risks so the ability to complete projects with a mindset prioritizing safety while adhering to company safety guidelines is a must. The ideal candidate will be customer service driven as they will be interacting with employees and outside personnel on a frequent basis.
