Field Service Director manages field service personnel to provide effective on-site support and technical assistance with various products or equipment. Plans and oversees installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of products/equipment to ensure proper function and maximize uptime. Being a Field Service Director oversees the scheduling and training of field service representatives. Handles service contracts and directs support services. Additionally, Field Service Director develops methods, guidelines, and policies to facilitate efficient service delivery. Reviews service reports to monitor service performance and enhance customer satisfaction. Ensures all customer issues are satisfactorily resolved, utilizing engineering, manufacturing, and other teams as needed. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director.     YOUR IMPACT AS THE SEASONAL ALASKAN FIELD OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

    As our Seasonal Alaskan Field Operations Coordinator, you get to support scientific research operations while enjoying Alaska's natural beauty. Every day brings something different as you work alongside operations staff to ensure that field research teams have everything they need to complete their projects. Whether you're staging equipment, picking up supplies, shuttling people and materials, or performing other necessary duties, you approach every task with a positive demeanor and a can-do attitude.

    As needed, you also assist with construction project tasks such as prefabricating components, resupplying field crews, and coordinating shipping and receiving procedures. You're a proactive problem solver who restocks supplies before they run out and addresses minor issues before they become major problems. A team player, you perform other tasks as needed to execute successful field research projects. You love working in such a beautiful environment and find satisfaction in doing your part to support scientific research!


    QUALIFICATIONS FOR OUR SEASONAL ALASKAN FIELD OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

    • 3 years of experience traveling and working in remote field operations/logistics in Alaska
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office, (Word, Excel, Teams)
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Gear repair skills particularly sewing of tents, sleeping bags and other camp equipment
    • Warehouse and operations experience
    • Ability to follow direction, prioritize and meet strict deadlines in a demanding environment
    • Valid Driver's License, may drive company vehicle for errands, pick-up of supplies, etc.
    • This position is recruited as a 'Fairbanks local hire only'

    WORK SCHEDULE FOR THE SEASONAL ALASKAN FIELD OPERATIONS COORDINATOR

    • The standard work week is flexible and hours are based on tasking priorities with no more than 30 hours scheduled per week during the business hours of 9:00a.m.-5:00p.m., Monday-Friday. During the course of the season, there may be weeks where no work is assigned.
    • Dependent on daily, weekly tasking, the position may also be expected to work a split shift or fewer hours than a regular 8 hr. shift when in the Fairbanks warehouse.
    • Schedule will vary based on needs and requirements of science projects to include working 8 hour days, weekends and/or evenings when deployed to the field.
    • The timeline for the position may vary depending on project and tasking priorities, i.e., April 15-September 1. The position is capped at a maximum of 500 hrs. for the 2024 season.
    • When in the field, the schedule will be dependent on the needs of the camp or research group.
