Financial Counselor - Healthcare jobs in Maine

Status Hours:

40 hrs/wk

Cary Medical Center has an exciting opportunity for a Financial Counselor to join their Billing Department. The successful applicant will collect all self-pay payments. This person will also be responsible for counseling patients as needed and assist with proper reporting and maintenance of accounts in an organized fashion.

Duties include but not limited to:

1. Contact all overdue accounts with a priority on accounts over $300.00.
2. Make payment arrangements according to policy.
3. Consolidate accounts according to policy.
4. Counsel patients as needed and note on each account via the billing system.
5. Patient complaints are to be handled immediately or as soon as possible and according to policy.

Requirements

1. Minimum of an Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience preferred

Availability Requirements:

Must be available to work Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm
