Description
The Financial Shared Services Director is responsible for leading multiple functions within the organization. The Director provides leadership, direction, and oversight of all aspects of Accounts Payable and Payroll operations. Accounts Payable responsibilities include ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately, vendor payments are made in a timely manner and that the department is operated in a manner that complies with all company policies and procedures. Payroll responsibilities include overseeing all payroll transactions, ensuring employees are compensated accurately and timely. Reports to the Corporate Controller.
Provides leadership and oversight of Accounts Payable and Payroll Operations ensuring compliance with organizational policies and procedures and applicable government regulations.
Oversee the daily operations of the Accounts Payable department including processing invoices, issuing payments, and maintaining vendor relationships. Ensure vendor statements are reconciled and discrepancies identified are resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
Ensure all invoices are properly authorized and coded appropriately. Review and approve invoices for accuracy and compliance with company policy prior to payment.
Ensure invoice payments are issued in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established deadlines.
Ensure inquiries from vendors and internal customers are responded to in a timely and professional manner.
Develop and implement process improvements to streamline the accounts payable process.
Directs and manages payroll organization in providing accurate and timely processing of the payroll for ensuring the integrity of financial and accounting system.
Oversees the timely and accurate processing of payroll, earnings, and deductions. Ensures the accurate deduction and remittance of garnishments, child support, IRS levies and court ordered as administered.
Collaborate with Paylocity (payroll vendor) to ensure all payroll tax activities, compliance with local, state, and federal regulations are filed timely. Ensure state and federal payroll quarterly taxes are filed in a timely and accurate manner.
Maintains confidentiality of payroll and proprietary information.
Oversees the professional development and performance of Payroll and Accounts Payable employees.
Provides input and direction regarding the design/implementation of system enhancements within the Payroll and Accounts Payable reporting systems.
Performs other position related duties as assigned.
Requirements
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSURES OR REGISTRY REQUIREMENTS
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) status preferred.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Minimum 8-10 years, progressively more responsible payroll – related work experience, 5-6 years of which were in a management role.
Hands-on experience with payroll software; Paylocity preferred.
