Fleet Manager manages the acquisition, operations, and maintenance of the organization's fleet of motor vehicles. Oversees scheduling and dispatch operations for vehicles and drivers. Being a Fleet Manager evaluates, purchases, leases, and disposes of vehicles to maintain the fleet. Develops and maintains vendor and service provider relationships for fuel, maintenance, and other essential services. Additionally, Fleet Manager administers insurance policy coverage, negotiates agreements, and participates in claim resolution. Develops and implements safety, preventive maintenance, and accident prevention programs. Knowledge of OSHA, DOT, and fleet-specific regulations, licensing, registration, and reporting requirements. Manages the fleet expense reporting and budgets. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Fleet Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Fleet Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Mobile Medical Fleet Manager -- Mobile Medical Administration -- Northgate-400 Association Dr.

  • The Mobile Medical Fleet Manager will have lead responsibility for the operational readiness of all company mobile medical units, related vehicles, equipment and support staff including professional drivers. This position works closely with other hospital department managers to create schedules for the mobile units and ensure clinical staffing to maintain operations. Reports directly to the Network Development Executive Director.

    Responsibilities

    This person will be responsible to ensure that well-maintained mobile medical units are properly scheduled and delivered to remote locations by professionally qualified drivers in a timely fashion with the highest degree of reliability. Specific responsibilities include: Staffing and Vehicle Maintenance •Develops departmental policies, procedures and checklists to ensure safety and reliability of all personnel, equipment and vehicles •Coordinates quality assurance program for the mobile fleet •Maintains a staff of trained, qualified, professional drivers appropriate for the type and size of vehicle assigned •Ensures all drivers are in compliance with federal, state and local laws and regulations, and drivers are of sound mental and physical condition prior to operating vehicles and equipment •Ensures all related equipment is maintained in good working order •Schedules routine vehicle maintenance in advance to minimize disruption to clinical schedules and maximize availability •Ensures all vehicles maintain current license, registration, inspection stickers, etc. •Monitors weather, road conditions and environmental surroundings to ensure safe operating conditions exist prior to vehicles operating on roadways. •Final authority to modify/cancel scheduled operations should conditions warrant •Maintains safe and clean working environment •Works with facilities team to maintain parking areas, power supplies and network infrastructure as appropriate •Coordinates with Information Services for proper operation of network and communication equipment. Department Manager •Hires, trains, and supervises department staff and drivers •Achieves financial objectives by participating annual budget process, maintains expenditures, analyzes budget variances •Manages expenses to ensure efficiency and cost containment, and to meet budget guidelines. •Coordinates quality assurance program for the mobile health unit •Works to resolve regulatory, compliance and quality issues in a timely manner •Keeps Executive Director and senior administration informed of all issues which impact the operational readiness of the mobile medical program •Coordinates with other department managers to ensure availability of clinical and technical staff •Ensures compliance with all company, federal, state and local agency policies and procedures Other Responsibilities •Works closely with clinical department managers and administrators to schedule mobile units in accordance with identified clinical requirements •Maintains strong community partnerships for outreach and promotion of mobile unit activities •Coordinates with community partners for scheduling of activities, as needed •Works with Marketing department to develop robust marketing and outreach programs •Distributes and develops printed materials in accordance with outreach and promotional programs •Develops and maintains a public-facing calendar of events for each mobile medical unit •Acts as an extension of the Network Development team, serves as liaison with community partners, schools, state and local officials, public and private organizations. •Provides input to strategic planning process •Advises company on policy changes as needed

    Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department’s identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Common Duties and Responsibilities (Essential duties common to all positions) 1. Maintain and document all applicable required education. 2. Demonstrate positive customer service and co-worker relations. 3. Comply with the company's attendance policy. 4. Participate in the continuous, quality improvement activities of the department and institution. 5. Perform work in a cost effective manner. 6. Perform work in accordance with all departmental pay practices and scheduling policies, including but not limited to, overtime, various shift work, and on-call situations. 7. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9. Perform related duties as assigned.
