Flight Medic transports and transfers patients by aircraft and assesses the extent of an illness or injury to establish and prioritize medical procedures to follow. Provides advanced life support care to patients who are ill and/or injured. Being a Flight Medic replenishes the aircraft with medical supplies after flights. Must be CPR certified. Additionally, Flight Medic requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to manager. Flight Medic's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. The Health Care Specialist / Combat Medic (MOS 68W) is the primary Health Care representative for the United States Army both in a clinical and a tactical environment.
The Healthcare Specialist in a clinic typically plays a vital role in patient care. They assess patients' medical histories, symptoms, and health conditions to determine appropriate care.
They often work closely with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive treatments.
In tactical / combat environments, they are responsible for providing emergency medical treatment at the point of wounding on the battlefield, limited primary care, and health protection and evacuation from the point of injury to a central medical facility.
