Skilled nursing facility is currently seeking a DIRECTOR OF FOOD SERVICES.
Responsibilities include:
· Following dietary guidelines for all residents ensuring the correct food is being served, the appearance of the plate looks good, the temperature of the food is correct, and portion size is being followed.
· Plans menus for the residents.
· Supervises cooks and dietary aides on a daily basis.
· Works as a cook in the kitchen 2 days a week.
· Interviews and trains new staff for the kitchen.
· Orders food and supplies for the department making sure stock is being rotated.
· Receives, checks, and puts away all deliveries for the department.
· Follows budget guidelines with ordering of food and staffing of employees.
· Makes sure the kitchen and storage area are always clean.
· Conducts in-service training, counseling meetings, and disciplinary action for employees as necessary.
· Participates in meetings regarding safety, CQI, and meetings with the dietitian.
· Works collaboratively with other departments.
Requirements:
Must be Certified Dietary Manager, or a Certified Food Service Manager, or have an associate’s or higher degree in food service management or in hospitality.
2 years’ experience as a Food Service Director in long term care.
2 years’ experience as a cook in long term care.
2-3 years of supervisory experience.
Must have your ServSafe Certification.
