Foundation Director directs the execution of the vision, strategic planning, financial management, fundraising, and grantmaking operations that support the overall objectives of a foundation. Defines the goals and tactics for fundraising campaigns and program initiatives. Being a Foundation Director represents the foundation to the public and media to communicate its mission, values, and accomplishments. Maintains positive relationships with foundation stakeholders, including the board of directors, grantees, community leaders, donors, and prospective donors. Additionally, Foundation Director oversees grantmaking operations, including developing grant guidelines, reviewing grant applications, and managing the grant evaluation process. Manages foundation programs and initiatives that align with the foundation's mission and values. Implements systems for monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the foundation's grantmaking and programs. Ensures all foundation activities comply with applicable laws, reporting requirements, and regulations. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Foundation Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Job Summary:
Under the review of the Foundation chair and board, the Director shall be responsible for implementing and managing fundraising programs and activities for the Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital Foundation. With board and committee input, the Director is responsible for developing, directing, organizing, managing, and evaluating all Foundation programs including planned giving, major individual gifts, corporate and business gifts. The Director will prioritize the budget based on the organization’s needs and enhance external and internal community support to diversify revenue sources for existing and future hospital fundraising efforts to maximize funding opportunities.
Qualifications:
Three (3) years of combined business and non-profit management experience with comparable duties * At least three (3) years of demonstrated success in leadership, fundraising, partnership, development, and financial management * 2-year degree in Business or related discipline preferred * Must possess a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and proof of automobile insurance * Ability to be a team leader and to listen closely to volunteers, take direction, and make informed decisions that move the Foundation forward * Computer Skills and a willingness to learn new processes and practices as required * Strong verbal and written communication skills with attention to detail that supports the designing of letters, invitations, posters, and other collateral materials in addition to numerous public verbal presentations and donor one on one meetings in the community * Strong marketing and public relations experience to successfully engage stakeholders in the Foundation activities * Demonstrated success at effectively leading change and organizational growth through a planning process * Personal qualities that include integrity, leadership, commitment to the foundation, mission, respect for diversity and the ability to inspire and motivate
